This program will review several different types of federal civil tax penalties including failure to file and failure to pay penalties, accuracy related penalties, valuation penalties, and penalties for failing to file certain international information returns. After explaining how these penalties work and how to best avoid them from being imposed, the program will also discuss best practices and the procedure for abating or removing these penalties after they have been assessed. You will learn how to seek penalty relief in the different administrative areas of the IRS and in the courts, and we will share practitioner tips to achieve expedient and efficient results.
